Hike: Turó de Tagamanent; 15 km
Sunday, June 2, 2019, 8:40 a.m., Meet in front of Cafe Zurich, Plaza Catalunya, 1
Join us Sunday!
Ready for a good climb? Well, pack some extra energy bars and let's go!
Rain or shine we’ll be meeting at 8:40 a.m. in front of Cafe Zurich at Plaza Catalunya where we’ll catch the train to Figaró.
This month we’re headed to Montseny Park to for a challenging hike to the top of Turó de Tagamanent. It includes a steady climb of 800 meters over 7 km but it's worth it! We start in Figaró and will climb up into the park via the local PR-C 213 trail over rocky country roads and footpaths. Near the the top, we'll stop for a picnic lunch near the restored 18th century Masia Bellever. From there we'll climb up to the top of Turó de Tagamanent where the ruins of the Romanesque Santa Maria basilica can be found. Then we descend through the forest into the neighboring town of Aiguafreda on the GR-2 trail.
This is a moderately difficult hike so be sure you’re ready for it. Please read the full hike description and download the trail on Wikiloc so you can follow the trail on your phone/GPS device.
