Hike: GR-92 Sant Vicenç de Calders to Vilanova i la Geltrú; 20 km
Sunday, November 4, 2018, 8:20 a.m., Meet in front of El Fornet, Carrer d'Aragó, 284
ASB Mediterranean Trail Hiking Series
September's hike is the eighth in our series following the GR-92 Mediterranean Trail. Stretching from France to Valencia, the GR-92 hugs the coastline covering a distance of 583 km in total. We've started our series in the south heading north and we'll hike as many segments of this marvelous long distance trail as are accessible by train. So far we've hiked 133 km! This hike picks up where we left off in September at Sant Vicenç de Calders and brings us 20 km east to Vilanova i la Geltrú; 20 km.
Join us Sunday!
Rain or shine we’ll be meeting at 8:20 am in front of El Fornet, Carrer d'Aragó, 284 where we’ll catch the train from Passeig de Gràcia to Sant Vicenç de Calders (R15 RE). Our trail follows the GR-92 all along the rocky coast over the beautiful beaches, boardwalks and blue-green coves the Costa Daurada is so well known for.
As usual, you will need to bring a packed lunch as we will be eating along the trail, but you might want to bring some extra cash because if we're lucky (fingers crossed!) there might be a chiringuito open where we plan to stop for lunch. Also, remember to bring a swimsuit if you want to jump in the water during the lunch break!
Though this trail is classified as easy, it is 20 km long and rocky in some areas, so be sure you are ready to go the distance! Please read the full hike description and download the trail on Wikiloc so you can follow the trail on your phone/GPS device.
