Roberto Baldizon

I am a true New Yorker in that I was not born there. I studied in the City University of New York, in the Bronx, and received industry certifications from Microsoft, Cisco and Novel Networks at a young age. Having a passion for music also led me to study Audio Engineering later on.

In past lives I have gone from DJ’ing, teaching Salsa dancing, and being a waiter, to working with the organization that launched the Clinton Administration’s first round of the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP). As the Technology Specialist I participated in helping grant-recipients in 16 US cities and Puerto Rico. In partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the organization I worked with also participated in creating educational partnerships in South Africa.

Most recently I have worked with independent American schools throughout Mexico as technology director and consultant. For four months now, I have been working in Barcelona, as the Technology Director for the Benjamin Franklin International School (www.bfischool.org).

Music and love of learning remain my passions. In working with the American Society I hope to continue to meet great people and to be introduced to new and exciting sounds.
